The Verax Institute is a theological institution that addresses the question of humanity’s salvation. Amid the diversity of religious opinion, the Institute offers spiritual orientation from a Baptist-Reformed perspective.
Progressives want to use technology to create excellent conditions on earth without God.
Belief in human omnipotence affects every sphere of life, including politics, the economy, religion, education, and culture. The individual increasingly loses their freedom, the state makes people ever more dependent on it, and biblical ethics loses its significance.
Efforts to limit the powers of nation-states in favor of a world government are justified in the name of peace and justice. War is one of the means used to pursue this goal.
Sinful humanity cannot build a paradise on earth; it needs reconciliation with God. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, gave his life on the cross for the redemption of the elect; he will return visibly as King of kings and bring God’s kingdom to completion on a new earth. Christians do not place humanity at the center but honor God; they respect their fellow human beings and practice biblical principles; they do not submit to any ungodly authorities.

Areas of Expertise
Martin Erdmann earned his doctorate in church history from Brunel University London in 2000 and completed his habilitation in dogmatics at Gáspár Károli University Budapest in 2017. He has directed the Verax Institute since 2003.
His professional background encompasses roles in the IT sector, as well as serving as a Baptist minister, overseeing the New Testament division at STH Basel, and teaching as an associate professor at Patrick Henry College in Virginia, USA. As a senior scientist at University Hospital Basel, he authored a study on the ethical questions of nanotechnology. Since 2024, he has led the Christliche Gemeinde Südschwarzwald.
He researches and publishes books and articles in German and English, gives sermons and lectures, produces videos, and advises Christian leaders and church members.
Through years of experience and a vast reservoir of knowledge, Dr. Martin Erdmann has identified and analyzed key problems within the Christian world, particularly within neo-evangelicalism.

Our Basic Beliefs
The Bible—the Old and New Testaments—is, in all its statements, divine revelation inspired by the Holy Spirit and is therefore the sole authoritative source of truth and faith, holding unrestricted authority in every respect. As the Word of God, it is completely reliable, factually accurate, and true in all areas, free from contradiction.
